A family's life can change completely from one moment to the next - this is what happened to the Schlattmann family in 1990 when their son Simon was diagnosed with bone cancer. Out of their gratitude for the medical care in Münster and their experience of how stressful the situation is for affected families, a vision was born: a temporary home for relatives of seriously ill children. In 1996, the “Family House at Münster University Hospital” opened its doors. Today, it offers a place of closeness and support in almost 50 rooms. Founded through commitment and supported by compassion, the house remains a symbol of hope and solidarity.
