When it comes to career choice, it is the parents who are involved as the most important advisers regarding this life-changing decision. For children who grow up without parental care, the first step into the working world is particularly difficult. The project “Skilled Hands” of the aid organisation Ayala has set itself the task of supporting orphans and boarding students from socially disadvantaged families in their career choice – thereby preparing them for an independent, autonomous life.
Carpenter, locksmith or hairdresser: Thanks to the donation of the LR Global Kids Fund, 400 young people can get an insight into the typical tasks and basic skills of different professions in workshops in two institutions – and may even find the right job for themselves.
