Strong Support: LR Global Kids Fund Presents €200,000 at the 30th RTL Telethon
Ahlen, 21. November 2025 – Today, the LR Global Kids Fund e.V. (LRGKF) made a significant television appearance on RTL. The Ahlen-based association was a guest at the 30th RTL Spendenmarathon of the “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.”. During the studio segment, Thomas Heursen, a founding member of the LRGKF, presented an impressive donation cheque for €200,000, which he handed over to Wolfram Kons, RTL's charity director.
„For the ninth time this year, the LRGKF is taking part, and yet the television event remains something special, especially the cheque handover! I would also like to thank the ‘Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.’ for the outstanding organisation and for the unforgettable experience of being involved,” summarises Heursen.
The joint partnership between the LRGKF and the “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.” provides sustainable support for disadvantaged children and young people. The entire donation will benefit the RTL Kinderhaus Lunch Club Ahlen. The children in Ahlen gain access to healthy meals, diverse educational offerings, and effective programs for personal development that pave the way to a better future. During the televised donation handover, a short clip shows the Ahlen Lunch Club children harvesting potatoes, the subsequent potato-peeling activity, and the shared enjoyment of homemade chips. The footage was shot in mid-September.
“Like any non-profit association, we too rely on donations from our supporters. We certainly do not take them for granted and are grateful for every contribution,” emphasises Almut Kellermeyer, Chairwoman of the LR Global Kids Fund e.V.
