New Leadership Duo at LR Global Kids Fund
Almut Kellermeyer and Henning Thiesing take over as chairs
Ahlen, August 18, 2025 – The Ahlen-based children’s aid association LR Global Kids Fund e.V. (LRGKF) decided on a change in its board during an extraordinary general meeting on June 2, 2025. Since July 1, 2025, Almut Kellermeyer has been leading the association as chair, with Henning Thiesing as deputy chair. Kellermeyer succeeds Kirsten Ueckmann, who has led the association with great dedication since 2022 and is now stepping down at her own request. Last year, during the association’s 15th anniversary, it supported 45 children’s aid projects with a total of nearly €450,000.
Almut Kellermeyer (born 1966), who has served as deputy chair since 2022, looks forward to her new role: “Many children face difficult starting conditions in life. Together with my fellow board member, I want to ensure that children and young people disadvantaged by poverty, displacement, or other challenges have better opportunities for the future. Every child should have the chance to learn and discover their talents to grow into a confident adult capable of leading an independent life.”
Henning Thiesing (born 1993), an Ahlen native, has been active on the board since September 2024 and brings valuable commitment to the association: “I firmly believe that those who can help should help. Children who find themselves in need through no fault of their own deserve our special attention. It’s not just about providing short-term support but creating long-term opportunities. At LR Global Kids Fund, we provide concrete, direct, sustainable, and Europe-wide assistance. Being part of this community makes me proud.”
Together, the new board aims to continue the association’s successful path and set new initiatives.
