12th August 2025: A Day for Youth – And Their Future
To be young means curiosity, change, and new beginnings. On 12th August, International Youth Day, this phase of life is brought into focus worldwide. Since 1999, the United Nations has used this day to draw attention to the needs, rights, and perspectives of young people.
In Germany, too, this action day provides an opportunity to discuss important topics such as education, equal opportunities, employment, and political participation. This is because young people aren't just the shapers of tomorrow – they also have something to say today.
Whether through global campaigns or regional and local initiatives: International Youth Day is an invitation to all of us to listen carefully – and to take young voices seriously. Their ideas, their commitment, and their perspectives enrich our society.
At LRGKF, we champion children and young people throughout the year – through targeted funding, strong partner organisations, and the support of our members.
On 12th August, let's stand together: for more co-determination, more opportunities, and more of a future for young people – here and everywhere.
