Hooray: the Ahlen Lunch Club is an RTL Children’s House now
Great joy – on Wednesday, 29 August the LR Global Kids Fund together with the new CEO of LR, Andreas Friesch, and the board of 'RTL-Wir helfen Kindern' officially designated the Lunch Club “RTL Children’s House”. Together, the sign was proudly and joyfully put up at the entrance.
A sign is one thing; the good cause behind it is another. As an RTL Children's House, the Lunch Club will be able to open five days a week instead of three, thus helping even more Ahlen children affected by poverty and offering loving care. Beyond that the Lunch Club now receives broader attention in the public. On a regional and national level, so that further supporters and donation funds will follow for the Lunch Club. It's great when our joint commitment can achieve so much!
Two years ago we started our cooperation with the ‘RTL - Wir helfen Kindern e.V.’ foundation. At the last RTL telethon in November 2017 we called for donations and presented the Lunch Club live on TV. Everything with one goal: To achieve more for disadvantaged children in Ahlen. The reason why we do this is quite clear: the Lunch Club has been our local heart's project since it was founded six years ago, and LR and the LR Global Kids Fund passionately support it in many ways.
In addition to the shooting for the clip that will be broadcast at the RTL telethon, which was also filmed on this day, a small party with singing and dancing games, muffins, balloons and soap bubbles was of course a must for the kids. On 1 September, the summer party continued with neighbours and the people of Ahlen at the Lunch Club.
